We recently collaborated with The Missing Piece, to create a bespoke scent for their latest collection, Treasure Island. Known for modern cheongsams that are both stylish and practical, The Missing Piece is all about effortless confidence, a value that carried into this collaboration.
For the scent, we set out to capture a feeling: the effortless lightness of a sun-drenched afternoon, the salt-laced breeze cutting through humid air, and the quiet majesty of Singapore's hidden green pockets.

1) When did you start The Missing Piece and how did it all come about?
I started the label at the end of 2016 as a creative outlet from being a full time stay at home mum to 3 young toddlers. It started with me working away at my sewing machine at night and during nap times to make coordinated clothing for my whole family. Friends and family started asking where we got our matching clothing from, so I ended up putting together a small lookbook of fabric swatches and simple silhouettes that they could order from. What first started as a fun project and hobby to keep myself sane soon grew into a fullfledged business which is now 10 years old.
At the heart of the brand lies a mission that is still deeply personal to me: to design for real women like myself—mothers, working professionals, daughters, friends and sisters—who juggle multiple roles and whose bodies have evolved through life’s seasons. In this spirit, I seek to create pieces that celebrate rather than conceal, offering elegant solutions that empower women to feel confident, beautiful, and seen.
Inspired by our little red dot, Treasure Island is a love letter to Singapore- a modern tropical paradise filled with quiet wonders and unexpected beauty. Also largely Inspired by my favourite childhood memories, the landscapes, flora, fauna and cultural details that make our little island unique, this collection reimagines familiar treasures through a resort-inspired lens. Rich colours, joyful prints and thoughtfully considered details come together in pieces designed for days that unfold slowly and moments worth savouring. Effortlessly wearable yet full of character, Treasure Island invites you to rediscover the beauty of home — where every corner holds a story, every detail a treasure, and every day feels touched by sunshine.
3) You're a designer, business owner and a mom - how do you get through the busy days and juggle it all?
Honestly, I don’t think I juggle it all perfectly. Some days the business needs more of me, and on other days, my family does. I’ve learnt to accept that balance does not always happen within a single day—it happens over different seasons.
What gets me through the busiest days is being clear about what truly needs my attention. I've also learnt to build my work around my children's schedules. Most of my productive work happens in the mornings while they're in school, and again at night after they've gone to bed. Afternoons are usually reserved for the kids, but my team knows I'm always contactable if anything urgent comes up.It's not always perfectly balanced, but over the years I've realised it's less about doing everything at once and more about being intentional with the time I have.

5) When someone wears a piece from Treasure Island, what do you want them to feel?
I want them to feel joyful. Treasure Island is a celebration of everything I love about Singapore—its colour, warmth, nostalgia and little hidden gems. I hope when someone puts on a piece, they not only feel confident and beautiful, but that it sparks a sense of fun and reminds them to look for the treasures in everyday life.
